for sustainability worldwide?
The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization working to make sustainable land use and responsible business practices the norm. The merged Rainforest Alliance organization has headquarters in both New York and Amsterdam. The Rainforest Alliance is looking to engage an inspiring Global Director HR to lead the HR teams and be a competent sparring partner for our leadership, enabling us to build happy and effective teams and achieve further sustainability impact and growth.
You will proactively support the fresh post-merger leadership team in cooperation, (the implementation of the) strategy, culture and structure. You oversee all HR activities for (overseas) staff and you provide leadership in the deployment of HR initiatives and development and implementation of human resource policies, practices and programs. Important topics are employee engagement and self-direction in the ‘new’ organization, performance, health, development and training, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, administration and compliance, governance, and crisis management.
You will travel regularly to The New York office and various locations in The Americas, Africa and Asia, to make sure teams are optimally empowered and connected. You will be Amsterdam based and report to the CFO (New York).
Commensurate with experience.
Our passion for sustainability connects us as a global team and together with stakeholders we drive positive change towards more sustainable practices in both local and global agricultural markets.
Deep expertise, a clear vision plus intensive cooperation with businesses, governments and NGO’s, make RA a globally effective and impactful organization. The preferred candidate will be offered a unique opportunity to work on ‘the cultural merger’ and thus provide the conditions for further growth and impact. Regular travel to the New York office and the various regions is important in this position.
